Italian-French Semiconductor ST33 Security Chip Has Over 1 Billion Sales
Data:2019-02-28 , Italian Semiconductor (ST) recently announced that the cumulative sales of ST33 embedded security IC exceeded 1 billion pieces. The popularity of ST33 series reflects the growing importance of protecting data and system security in secure mobile consumption, intelligent driving, intelligent industry and smart city applications. ST33 series of flexible architecture allows Semiconductors to take the lead in the development of new security chips such as embedded SIM (eSIM), embedded security unit (eSE), trusted platform module (TPM).
Laurent Degauque, Marketing Director of Semiconductor Security MCU Business Department of Italy and France, said: "Smart phones, wearable devices, Internet of Things devices and other ubiquitous intelligent interconnection devices need embedded security technology, ST33 chip has contributed to the development of embedded security technology. As the first of its kind to adopt advanced ArmSecure Core SC300 security processor, this series of products utilizes our flexible architecture and advanced flash memory technology to provide high-standard protection functions in line with the industry as before, while integrating new functions such as interface and accelerometer to support emerging applications. ST33 is an embedded security platform designated by SIM card manufacturers, operating system developers and smartphones, wearable devices, security readers, desktop PCs, servers and other primary equipment manufacturers. ST33 security chip uses smaller, thinner WLCSP (wafer-level chip size package) packaging and personalized wafer industry process that meets the GSMA standard. It is selected by major smartphone original equipment manufacturers to design new devices based on eSIM. In 2018, Italian Semiconductor is the first chip manufacturer to obtain the certification of GSMA SAS-UP (UICC Production Safety Certification Scheme). It can complete the personalization process of ST33 eSIM card for mobile and Internet of Things devices without further programming required by OEM. ST33 security microcontroller has a variety of models to choose from, providing a variety of optional functions, including NFC controller connection, advanced encryption hardware accelerator, and industrial and automotive certification. |
