Howe Technologies released its first 0.8 micron, 32 megapixel image sensor
Data:2019-02-28 , On February 25, OmniVision Technologies Inc., the industry's leading developer of digital image solutions, released its first 0.8-micron image sensor, OV32A, loaded with PureCel Plus stack technology. This new image sensor provides industry-leading performance for high-end smartphones.
"As consumers demand higher pixel resolution for high-end smartphones, including their front-end cameras, the demand for high-performance smartphone cameras continues to rise," said Arun Jayaseelan, senior marketing manager at Howe Technologies. "Meanwhile, the circuit space inside smartphones is very limited. OV32A with a pixel size of only 0.8 microns can support 32 megapixel resolution in an optical format of 1/2.8'. Such a small size can have many high-end performance, OV32A is the ideal choice for high-end smartphones. Howe Technologies uses more sophisticated design and process technology of PureCel < Plus to achieve the current ultra-small pixel size of OV32A. In addition, the optimized upper and lower pin placement design reduces the horizontal size of the module, and provides the best solution for the front-end camera of smartphone with thin frame and screen maximization. OV32A uses advanced 4-Cell pixel color filter design and built-in 4-Cell to Bayer conversion function. In this way, 32 million full-pixel output can be achieved under normal light conditions. Even in low light conditions, OV32A's 4 Cell function can present 8 million pixels of images with 4 times low light sensitivity, and achieve seamless fast conversion of real-time high-performance quarter resolution to 32 million static pictures and video shooting. OV32A can achieve high resolution imaging in different formats, including 32 million full-pixel output of 15 frames per second, or 8 million pixel output of 60 frames per second. The product also supports 60 frames per second 4K2K, 120 frames per second 1080p, and 240 frames per second 720p video. Samples of OV32A are expected to be available in March. |
